Welcome to my website!

I am Vedant, A final semester grad student at UMD, College park enrolled in their Master's in Robotics engineering program. I have an undergraduate degree (B.Tech) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from VNIT, Nagpur, India which I obtained in 2019. Early in my career, I have worked on software stacks of Hybrid and Serial 6DoF collaborative Robotic arms at Systemantics India Pvt Ltd .    I have spent the majority of 2023 at Nasa's Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) @ CalTech, as a Robotics and Autonomy intern, for the EELS project, under JPL group 347T.

As a robotics software developer at Systemantics India , I have worked on the entire software stack for Systemantics' AxC robotic arms , which included a MVVM AndroidX based HMI application , ROS2/Ubuntu/Realtime-Linux based central controller , STM32/FreeRTOS based joint controllers and STM32 based I/O boards. This work exposed me to critical low-level technologies like FD-CAN, RTOS, Real-Time syncronization,ROS2 ,Real-Time Linux and Distributed control, needed for accurate motion control of a robotic arm.

At JPL , my job was to scale up force/torque control starting from 400N-m joint level torque control, to the task space level of the EELS2.0 robot. For this I explored and integrated entirety of ElmoMC's  EtherCAT/CoE based Platinum Twitter drive software stack, with ElmoMC's Platinum Maestro Motion controller for the EELS2.0 robot, and the EELS Torque control testbed. I have explored and established Software-in-the-loop (SIL) pipelines for the drive and the motion controller, which generates a bug-free Real-Time code, via Simulink, without the need of C++ development.
